RESURRECTION SUNDAY

Resurrection Sunday (or Easter Sunday) takes place on April 16, 2017. It is the most important feast for all Christians, who commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus. It is celebrated in many countries with liturgical processions and celebrations.

Easter Sunday marks the end of Holy Week, which commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus.

Jesus Christ with his death delivered us from sin and reconciled us to God. The Passover is the triumph of Jesus over death and with his resurrection opened the gates of heaven.

In the Mass this event is remembered with great joy and the Paschal Candle lights up, which represents the light of the risen Christ. The Paschal Candle remains lit until the day of the Ascension. The resurrection of Christ is one of the foundations of the Christian religion, because it testifies to its divinity and the truth of our faith.
